Today, I am passionate about life restarts and helping others make positive health and lifestyle changes–at any age.
I joyously welcomed our second child,but three short months later, suffered a gallbladder attack that resulted in an emergency surgery. Life interruptions continued to appear, when nine months later we moved out of state (again). Talk about transition! Needless to say, juggling motherhood, change, and marriage was more than a handful. I thought I’d finally catch a break but I couldn’t have been more wrong when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease. To say my life was turned upside down would an understatement.
With intense fatigue, daily bloating, brain fog and no direction to heal myself (other than take medications) I took matters into my own hands. I fervently prayed and researched chronic and autoimmune conditions. I read books, medical journals and articles. I was determined to understand this condition and find natural ways to reverse it. Finally, the dots started to connect. I learned how to nourish my body. Through nutrient dense, whole food and lifestyle changes I figured out my body’s unique triggers. I discovered that health is paramount and healing is tangible.
A few years ago my life looked very different; wellness was not my priority and I did not understand balance. I was your typical Type A corporate workaholic. As a Vice President in an Investment firm, my days consisted of long hours, client meetings in multiple cities, coffee in the morning and an occasional cocktail at night. I made very little time for my health and struggled to consider proper food and nutrition. I was married, but honestly-in full transparency, my greatest priority was my career.
